Rudy
Degger, ACTAR has been investigating
traffic accidents since 1978. He has qualified as an expert regarding
traffic accident reconstruction in twenty-one different California
Counties. His expertise includes the reconstruction of auto-pedestrian,
bicycle, motorcycle, speed-from-crush, commercial vehicle, and
low-speed impact collisions.
Mr. Degger is accredited by ACTAR and is the
owner of Rudy Degger & Associates, Inc., which specializes
in the reconstruction of traffic accidents. He is a retired police
sergeant from a San Francisco Bay Area police department. He is
an adjunct faculty member at Los Medanos College, Sacramento City
College, and formerly, the University of California at Riverside,
teaching all levels of accident investigation and accident reconstruction
at those institutions. In addition, Mr. Degger has been a guest
lecturer and has taught accident reconstruction at various police
departments, professional organizations, insurance companies,
municipal bus and transit districts and law firms. Past audiences
have included: Northern California Fraud Investigators Association,
Northwestern University Traffic Institute, Consortium of Accident
Reconstruction Specialists, Litigation Committee of the Barristers
Club of the San Francisco Bar Association, California Association
of Accident Reconstruction Specialists, California Chiropractic
Association, American Corporate Council Association, Forensic
Accident Reconstructionists of Oregon, Southwestern Association
of Technical Accident Investigators, and Alameda-Contra Costa
County Transit District.
Chris
Kauderer, BSME, ACTAR, in addition to
having an Engineering Degree from Santa Clara University, has
been awarded Full Accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist
by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction
(ACTAR #1070).
Chris Kauderer has 20+ years in the Traffic Accident
Reconstruction Business. Upon graduating from college, Mr. Kauderer
went to work in private practice for his father, retired CHP MAIT
Team Member, David J. Kauderer. After 13 years reconstructing
traffic accidents with his father at D.J. Kauderer & Associates,
Inc., Chris Kauderer formed his own consulting firm, Kauderer
& Associates. In April 2003 Kauderer & Associates and
Rudy Degger & Associates joined forces and currently work
under the RDA name.
Chris Kauderer has reconstructed approximately 2000
accidents and has testified as an acknowledged Traffic Accident
Reconstruction Expert numerous times at trial, depositions, and
hearings in criminal, civil, traffic, and disciplinary proceedings
in Superior and Municipal Courts of California.
Chris Kauderer currently is a part-time instructor
for the Law Enforcement Training Division of the Office of the
Sheriff of Contra Costa County, in conjunction with Los Medanos
Junior College. Mr Kauderer instructs both law enforcement and
private parties in various areas and levels of accident investigation
and reconstruction.
Kent E. Boots, ACTAR has 15+ years of experience in Traffic Collision Investigation and Reconstruction, 14 of which were as an on-scene investigator for a major California Sheriff's Department. He has qualified and testified numerous times as an expert in traffic collision reconstruction at trial and depositions in criminal, civil, and traffic proceedings in Superior and Municipal Courts of California.
In his Law Enforcement capacity Mr. Boots reviewed and approved over 4500 traffic collision reports for numerous law enforcement contract cities. He participated in his department's Major Accident Reconstruction Team as an A.C.T.A.R. accredited reconstructionist from October of 1998 until his retirement in 2006. He also provided consultation for other law enforcement agencies and the District Attorney's Office, conducting and/or assisting with collision reconstructions.
He was a part-time instructor for Santa Ana City College for over five years teaching Basic and Intermediate Collision Investigation. He is an adjunct faculty member for Riverside Community College, where he has taught Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Collision Investigation as well as Computer Aided Diagramming using AutoSketch, but is not currently teaching any classes at this location. He is also a part-time instructor for the Law Enforcement Training Division of the Office of the Sheriff of Contra Costa County teaching all levels of collision investigation & reconstruction including Computer Aided Diagramming using AutoSketch and CrashZone/CrimeZone. He is certified by CAD Zone as an instructor in CrashZone/CrimeZone, FireZone, PocketZone, and QuickScene. He is certified by the Vetronix Corporation as a trainer for the Crash Data Retrieval System Technician Course.
Mr. Boots is a member of the California Association of Accident Reconstruction Specialists (CAARS). He has been on the CAARS board of directors since October of 2001 serving as the Vice-Chair from 2002-2006; he is currently the Chairperson. He is also a member of the Professional Society of Forensic Mapping (PSFM), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and the Southwestern Association of Technical Accident Investigators (SATAI).
