Traffic Accident Reconstruction II Course Description

PREREQUISITE
The student must have successfully completed the Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Traffic Accident Investigation classes, and the Traffic Accident Reconstruction I, or the equivalent. The student must have a good working knowledge of basic algebra.

COST
$473.00 / Checks payable to Office of the Sheriff (Due by the first day of class). The center may be required to change the enrollment fee, based on state legislation.

DESCRIPTION
This 40-hour course builds directly on the concepts of conservation of linear momentum and conservation of energy taught in Traffic Accident Reconstruction I. The class will focus on case studies. Students will practice reconstructing traffic accidents from previously investigated accidents using scale diagram, photos and party statements. The course will review the law of conservation of momentum, the law of conservation of energy, the analysis of speed from damage and vehicle dynamics. The course meets the guidelines established by P.O.S.T.
