PREREQUISITE
Successful completion of the Advanced
Accident Investigation class or knowledge in contructing to-scale
diagrams by hand. It is strongly recommended that the student
have some basic understanding of the Microsoft Windows operating
system.
COST

DESCRIPTION
This course teaches the student how to construct scale factual
diagrams of collision scenes using a commercial CAD software program
and also prepares the student to testify in court as an expert
about how the software was used to construct the diagram. The
student is also taught about software and system requirements
related to the software. The student is instructed in the special
techniques of scene documentation, entering of reference points,
the different types of measurement techniques available for scale
diagramming and the specific components of scale drawings. The
student will actually use the software to perform exercises in
drawing radii, fillets, constructing intersections, layering the
diagram, scaling, saving and retrieving parts and files, indicating
distances and angular measurements and printing or plotting the
diagram. POST Plan IV.

All supplies will be provided. Autosketch software by Autodesk,
Inc. will be supplied to each student to take with them at the
end of the class.
