Traffic Collision Investigation classes or equivalent. It is strongly
recommended that the student have an understanding of basic algebra.

$616.00 / Checks payable to Office of the Sheriff (Due by the first day
of class). The center may be required to change the enrollment fee, based
on state legislation.

DESCRIPTION
This course prepares the student to testify in court as an expert
in Accident Investigation. The student will build on the concepts
taught in the Basic and Intermediate classes to determine speed
based on projectile motion (freefall and launch) and to perform
complex time-distance studies. The course teaches the student
about Human, Environmental and Vehicle Factors, Scale Diagrams,
Collision Scene Measurement Techniques, Photography, Vehicle Lamp
Examinations, Vehicle and Occupant Kinematics and Basic Motion.
A review of basic Algebra and Physics principles is provided.
The course meets the guidelines established by POST (POST Plan
IV).
The course includes computer software which
each student will receive. The student will be taught
how to use the software to make mathematical calculations based
on the equations taught in the class.
SUPPLIES
Students are required to bring a current California Vehicle
Code book. All other supplies will be provided.
